We actually devised a plan about the whole: "What if my leader goes inactive?"
Essentially, since we have a recruiter account now that nobody ever seems to use (at least as far as I know), Aspen and I decided to make a recruiter for each clan and make them the leaders of said groups. That way, let's say Aspen isn't online and GladeClan is having issues. I'd be able to pop on the recruiter character to talk with the clan in their group about whatever is going on. This also will make it easier on everyone so that when a leader dies. A new group won't need to be reformed.
As far as worrying about leader activity, this is the sole reason why Aspen and I are leaders first time round if the new RP idea goes through, which at this time, is more than likely going to happen. Just not right away. However, I really respect and appreciate everyone who has given feedback thus far because it really means a lot having people care about a RP like Redemption.
And as far as the whole "two clans get boring" topic, we've got that lot covered. Whether it be natural disasters, clan wars, or even potentially bringing in another clan when the time is right and the people we choose are ready for it. There's always new roleplays going up, and we need to focus on two clans before a third is brought in, which was our mistake in Inheritance/Redemption. Not to mention I plan on doing seasonal updates, so they'll be a lot more natural set backs for the clans in Yellowstone.
(We even considered allowing members to briefly audition to make characters of other animals for plots, but only plots)
However, I'd like to reiterate that the two clan RP wasn't brought on by the idea of CC and GC's activity problems. Aspen and I were having trouble finding active high ranks with suitable characters, and with 9 ranks that need to be active and filled, it gets stressful when someone leaves. With two, we'd each be in a clan with the final word on everything, and it'd be easier for our staff to moderate.

You'd keep the name and the design, as that's completely up to you. Or you could make a completely new cat, though it depends on what you want. It's just the history that'll need to be tweaked.

If the new RP does go through, there will only be 6 high ranks. And most of them are filled in case this does happen, aside from medicine cat. From that point on, a character would have to prove themselves and earn the title. ^^

IMPORTANT REDEMPTION POLL + PLAN As you all know, we've been struggling with activity in GladeClan and CragClan for going on two months, along with having to constantly replace high ranks. What I'm about to say needs to be read with an open mind and your honest opinion on what should happen from this point onward.
A roleplay is nothing without their community, after all.
AspenHorizons ☀️ and I have been talking for weeks, trying to find a way to alleviate some of the lag in the map, the inactive high ranks, and etc. Lag can be fixed, yes, but activity cannot. As many of you have noticed, WarrenClan is definitely the most active clan, while GladeClan and CragClan are at roughly the same levels of activity. So Aspen and I would like for you all to hear us out on our idea.
Redemption was at it's peak when all three clans were in the grotto. Since then, I've not seen nearly as many GC and CC warriors online. So that's what lead us to this idea:
Instead of having three clans, or even four, we would bring down the number of clans to two. This would be a lot more enjoyable for all of us, instead of having to split members three ways. The only question we asked ourselves was: Why would the clans move to a new territory much bigger than before and then split into only two clans? There would be no land to fight over, because there would be so much. Not only that, but both clans would have to pick between both old camps, which I don't think would be fair to some who liked one camp more than the other. So instead, Aspen and I have come up with a brand new RP idea. Note that this wouldn't be affiliated with Inheritance OR Redemption. It would be it's own story.
Our story starts in Yellowstone National Park. Two clans, PeakClan and GorgeClan, with an age old hate for eachother. The clans fight over land, while also fighting off other wildlife such as black bears, elk, bison, you name it. I'm not going to go into plot specifics, but essentially it'd be more of a clan vs clan AND a clan vs enviornment roleplay.
Ok, now that you know the gist of the new RP idea, I'll list the pros and cons of leaving this roleplay behind in a complete unbiased opinion. PROS⚜ Activity levels would rise for certain if we only had two clans to recruit for, both being lead at the helm by both founders at the start.
⚜ Everyone would be involved for plot purposes and no clan would be left out.
⚜ Detailed camps like the prior map and less empty space, resulting in perhaps less lag than what we have in this map.
⚜ Mini plots would be varied and constantly switched up, such as droughts, bear attacks, etc. Not just constant border skirmishes.
⚜ Decide what clan you and your friends from other clans would like to join together! CONS⚜ Characters from this roleplay would either have to be deleted, or their history would have to be altered in order to fit into the new roleplay. Considering the vastly different locations.
⚜ A new map, another download.
Now, I'd just like to mention that once the poll is over, if it's agreed that we should make a new roleplay, then we won't just drop this one immediately. We'd set a date in the future when the RP would end, and the new one would begin. It won't be affective immediately.
However, if it's decided by majority that we should continue redemption, then that's what we'll do. But at the rate it's been going, having to demote high ranks and watching activity in the clans fluctuate, well, we'll do our best.

ragclan is an almost perfect blend of ShadowClan and SkyClan. While they are commonly brown, black, or red pelted, these cats can come in just about any color. They are perhaps the most traditional clan and the most reckless. These cats are bulky, built for climbing rocks and powerful hind legs for leaping long distances.[break][break] After Rookstar's leadership was cut short by an elk stampede, much like the prior leader, Redstar, Rookstar was passionate about his clan and clanmates. He argued over territory with Rosestar, sending underhanded threats at the gatherings and defusing the tension with his wit. He died along side Minkchaser, his mate and also his deputy, trying to save their kits.[break][break] After the sudden demise of both their leader and deputy, CragClan mourned the loss heavily. Another cat, Shadestrike, rose to power, becoming leader a short time after Rookstar's death. He appointed Pantherclaw deputy shortly afterward. The dark tom wasted no time, bullying Rosestar and eventually leading to a battle where his own eye was taken. Shadestar was craving revenge, and what better than to weasel territory out of the grasps of Rosestar?[break][break] So, Shadestar called on his rogue friends, promising riches and redemption. He sent them to steal kits from Dewstar and Rosestar. When the rescue party arrived at CragClan's camp, despite the peace treaty made only hours beforehand, Shadestar threatened the kits lives. Maplekit, one of Dewstar's, perished from being separated from her mother too long. After Fawnkit, one of Rosestar's, tried to escape upon seeing her family, Shadestar struck her. Two kits died that night, and in turn, Shadestar lost two lives.[break][break] Despite CragClan's history of being cold hearted brutes, Shadestar's clanmates did not stand behind him. Brighteyes lead the rebellion against him, aiding the two leaders in stripping Shadestar of his leadership. Brighteyes then became Brightstar. This is her reign. Though he is remembered fondly by his clan, the other two considered him a tyrant. Not unlike Boulderstar, Redstar thought that GladeClan and the newly formed WarrenClan were beneath them. So much that he tried to take over the forest, killing cats in the dead of night like a rogue. Unexpectedly on a hunting patrol, the tom was trampled after Elk were startled. It is unknown if it was a freak accident or if one of his own clanmates plotted to kill him. Between causing battles and sending his clanmates out of his den, Rookstar fell for his deputy, Minkchaser. Unfortunately, Rookstar and Minkchaser died attempting to save their kits after the trio snuck out of camp to take a peek at the elk herd. ladeclan is the ThunderClan of the role-play, and a hint of RiverClan. These cats range to a large to average build and are mostly known to have long to medium and sleak pelts. Their colors range from dark browns to pale creams, but can take on almost any color. arrenClan is the WindClan of the role-play. These cats are small, ranging from browns to pale pelts of almost any color. Unlike the two constantly feuding clans, WarrenClan is known for staying well out of a fight, taking it upon themselves to be the peacekeepers of their home. WarrenClan cats take refuge in a large abandoned rabbit burrow (hence the name) in the midst of their moorland boundaries.[break][break]
Under Dewstar's leadership, WarrenClan has tried as hard as they can to make peace between GladeClan and CragClan. After the abrupt death of CragClan's leader and deputy, tensions rose as Shadestar became CragClan's new leader. It makes little sense for a kit to be born in a clan and both parents are dead, or that a random caretaker decided to take you in. This also applies to rogues/loners/kittypets.
● You may have 3 characters ●the third can be applied for. If you have good activity and only then, may you create a third character. In which case, your third character must be a kit of two parents in your clan and you MUST apply to have a 3rd character.
● Realism is required ●
This includes pelt color, eye color, designs, etc. We'll ask you to change it if we deem it unrealistic.● Do not talk about politics/sensitive topics ●
Just don't. If someone asks you to stop, please do.
● Character deaths are planned, not a last minute idea ● We don't want cats committing suicide, or accidentally falling off cliffs or anything extreme. Please talk to your leader about your character's death. The only exception to this rule is in terms of battle. If the wounds are bad enough, you may decide to kill your cat. Just be realistic.
● DO NOT make StarClan and/or Dark Forest Cats without permission ●
We'd honestly prefer you roleplay them out, then when they finally pass you can have them go either place. But we can't have people making dead characters willy nilly. It just wouldn't make sense.
● Do not give out the map or map password ●
I took the time to make the map for the RP, and I'd appreciate only leaders or members of the staff giving out the map or password. Anyone that is caught in my map and not in the RP, will get screenshot-ed and reported.
● Activity is important ●
If you aren't on for four days, you're flagged on our website and removed from your clan's group. After a week, your account is deleted from our website.
● No Savannah Cats, Ocicats, etc. ●
Considering the RP takes place in Ireland, I don't think such exotic breeds would be found roaming the wild. This means you cannot be related to them. Period.● No clan hopping ●
Unless it's vital to plot, or arranged with staff, nobody is permitted to switch clans after they join one. This also goes along with not making another character in another clan. Just don't.● Post absences ●

Just let us know before you do.● Litter numbers will be randomly generated, varying from 1-4 kits ●Whenever a queen is expecting, a staff member will use a number generator to decide how many kits that queen can have that particular litter. You can choose to have the amount of kits allotted to you, or less. ● Once your character is dead, you do not have permission to visit cats in their dreams, give prophecies, etc. ●If there is ever a need for it, and your cat is related or had a strong relationship to the one that anythings about, we'll let you know.
